Welcome to the Omaha Post Website!
A Message from the President
COL Robert J. Ruch, USACE
SAME Omaha Post Members,
As 2011 draws to a close, I want to take this opportunity to wish you a very Happy Holiday season!
It's hard to believe that we are wrapping up 2011. This was a busy and fruitful year for the Omaha Post. During the 60th Anniversary of National Engineers Week, we helped raise awareness about the contributions of engineering professionals with activities at the Strategic Air Command Museum, provided a sizeable donation to the Omaha North High Magnet School's Engineering InvenTeam's fundraising campaign, and supported proclamations declaring National Engineers Week in Nebraska. The 2011 Omaha Post Industry Day and Golf Outing was a huge success and well attended. And, our Student Mentoring Program has grown by leaps and bounds this year.
All of these activities and more including support for our scholarship program, securing interesting and engaging luncheon meeting speakers and offering industry spotlight presentations contributed to the growth and the strength of the Omaha Post this year.
I want to take a moment to thank our volunteers who are serving on the SAME Board of Directors and Committees, SAME Fellows, and those participating in our student mentoring program and serving in other capacities for the Omaha Post. Your investment in advancing the field of military engineering and helping to secure our nation is noteworthy. If you haven't been as active in the Post as you'd like, there will be many opportunities where you can help support our organization's activities in the year ahead.
Enjoy the holidays with family and friends. I wish you safe travels during this time of year and much continued success in 2012.
Wishing you a joyous holiday season!
